Short Story Terrible Pond

Raihan came to the village after many days, he works in a multinational institution in the city.a while ago just came home earlier so he is tired his mother said after resting he should go to the pond and take a bath his mother is preparing food. By the time he finishes his bath, food will be ready.

Everyone bathes in the pond in their village. Raihan went to bathe in the pond and came home after almost three years, so he liked the environment of the village very much. Walked, walked near the pond, now it’s time to go down to the pond.

He looked back and saw that there was no one around. He was about to go down into the water and heard the call again, this time he shouted and said, “Who is calling me from behind?” Raihan Hotat Sudhu was shocked to see the hand. Raihan asked who I am? Who is there? Then a voice came out, I am Chhattar

Raihan: Why can’t you see your face?

Chhattar: Let’s see how I am next to the tree.

Raihan: What are you doing here?

Raihan asked again whether the water in the pond had been washed away. In reply, Chattar said that even after washing it, they were not found. Raihan thought this was very  , he pointed to another pond next to Chhattar and said, “You go to that pond and take a bath and come to the market in the afternoon. We will talk about it.” Chhattar left. Raihan looked thoughtfully at the pond and went to the far pond.

While eating at home, she asked her mother to take a bath in the pond near beside us. Mother said yes, I went to forget as soon as I told you, why don’t you go down in that pond again? Raihan said I went to get down, but I didn’t get down.

Mother said let’s say it’s good in this pond. Raihan told his mother that to understand disappeared in that pond.

The mother said, “I am going to go down to the pond to give food, but after that, no one sees them anymore.”

Raihan asked why the pond water did not flow in the pond even after irrigation?

Mother said pump. After eating, Raihan lies on the bed and wonders if then has really taken the sacrifice. He lost his mind.

In the afternoon, Raihan went to the market and talked more about this matter with Chhattar and other friends. But everyone’s talk is taken in that one pond. At the end of the chat, he returned to his thoughts and thought that he would go to Dhaka and talk to his friends.

Raihan talked about the matter with a few other people of the village, none of them seemed acceptable to him. It seems that his vacation is over. He came to Dhaka and wants to focus on work. Again and again the thought of the village pond is staring at him. Raihan wondered how it would be if he talked to his friend Ranjit in Dhaka. The next day he told Ranjit that he also did not get any answer to this incident, a thought came to Ranjit’s mind, what would it be like to talk to their university’s physics teacher.

The next day they told the teacher everything in detail. The science teacher listened to them and said that I understand that three people drowned in that pond and died, but their dead bodies were supposed to float in the water. Even after watering the pond, they could not find the secret. In the middle of talking, the teacher of the history department entered to meet the teacher of physical science. He asked the history teacher what is being discussed? He also told everything and asked Raihan about the name of their village in which district etc. After some time the history teacher said I have heard everything from you, well you come to my office room tomorrow after taking my class. Raihan said ok sir and left.

The next day Raihan came to meet the history teacher. When Sir was sitting on the chair and eating tea, Raihan entered the room with permission and sat on the chair. Sir Raihayon said, I am asking you some questions. Is there any old zamindar house in your village?

Raihan; yes sir yes

Sir; How far is the pond you are talking about from that landlord’s house ?

Raihan; It is 50 yards away.

Sir; He said in a serious voice, “Huh, I found out from the history of your village and its surroundings that there was a big pond 50 yards away from the landlord’s house. Is there a pond?”

Raihan; Yes, I heard from my mother that our pond was once many boroughs deep, but now everyone calls it a pond.

Sir; In history, there was a temple 50 yards away from the landlord’s house, is it there?

Raihan; At six o’clock I heard from the village boys that there was a big temple in the landlord’s house. One day there is a very strong earthquake or the temple disappears after the earthquake or the temple is no longer seen.

But one more thing that bothers the people of the village is that after the earthquake or there is a flood in our village, after the flood water recedes, this lake floats away.

Sir; a while remained silent and said in a serious voice, Raihan, come again at this time tomorrow.

Rayahan left Sir’s room and went home.

The next day came to meet again. When the history and physics teachers were talking together, Raihan came and entered the room with permission.

History teacher; You said yesterday that the dam was built from scratch. After the flood water receded, the dam came into view. And no one could see the temple due to the earthquake. What I have learned from the history of your region is that there are landslides and floods in some areas including your village.

The temple did not disappear, it was buried under the ground due to the earthquake. And the lake is formed due to the subsidence of the soil, which is the result of earthquakes

Everyone was in panic because the ground of that khan was submerged and shortly after that there was a flood so no one realized that a huge ditch had been formed there. The water from the flood got stuck in the ditch and became a lake.

Raihan; I understand about the pond and the temple, but how did those three boys disappear from the pond?

Short Story Terrible Pond

Teacher You said that the lake was silted up due to floods and became a pond. Then we assume that the soil of the pond has not been plowed for many years. As a result, silt has accumulated and a sticky kiss has formed in the middle of the pond. The middle of the temple is made of loose sand like sand.

Desperate, the three probably went to the middle of the pond and drowned in a place as soft as sand, because no one could hear their voices in the water.

Raihan went home and told his friends and everyone in the village that at first they did not agree but later they agreed to dig the pond. After digging in the middle of the pond, they found three poor people and some artifacts from the ancient temple. The skeleton is given to the Tsar, Tsar family.
